As a member of Pine River, you will gain experience in all aspects of a small business and determine what areas you would like to learn more about or take ownership of. This is an all-encompassing small business experience where you will get hands on experiences with all facets of the operation.

Job Duties / Areas of Focus

• Be knowledgeable of basic manufacturing and warehouse job functions.

  • Provide back up or support during seasonal peaks.

  • Use this knowledge to be effective in other support areas throughout the internship

• Warehousing activities and policies:

  • Home location management , FIFO, preventive control processes, order picking, and ingredient setup/staging

• Supply Chain value chain: Ordering, Receiving, Inventory analysis, etc…

• Accounting Function: Payable processing, monthly reporting, cost analysis, check processing

• Human Resources:

  • Hiring, annual evaluations, coaching based on performance, vacation approvals, employee investigations, annual survey and analysis of morale trends.

• Manufacturing supervision and support.

  • Give feedback to employees relative to their performance

  • Assist with break times by performing jobs during employee breaks

• Conduct environmental & finished product testing

  • Administering corrective actions as needed

• Auditing and assisting with Pine River’s Food Safety Program, SQF system, and its regulatory compliance.

  • Ensuring all employees maintain a clean work environment and follow proper cGMPs

• Create and assist with updating standards and training documents

• Assist and update in Sanitation documentation:

  • SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)

  • MSS (Master Sanitation Schedules)
